Small Poems for Toddler

A toddler learning poems develop the sense of rhythm, train memory and learn to speak with with more complicated structures. Your toddler can’t sit still and listen to stories and long poems. You don’t need to sit. Tell him poems while you are playing in the yard or walking to the supermarket, when having a bath or cooking in the kitchen. Just don’t be lazy!

Once I caught a fish alive

One, two, three, four, five,
Once I caught a fish alive,
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
Then I let it go again.

Why did I let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on the right.

Betta fish. Don't tease
