Reading With a Toddler – Your Secret Mission

We started to read for Sofia very early. It’s really amazing activity cause it never becomes boring. It become a habit for us and we always buy new books for her.
I don’t know other activity that can have so many positive features. Even if you don’t know all of them keep reading to your child and you’ll see the difference.
How did reading help my daughter in her development?
- build her vocabulary. Now it’s quite big for her age. As it appeared even some grown-ups doesn’t know who is panda and koala:) I’m not sure if I knew it in her age.
- make easy to remember rhymes in stories. Repeating rhyming phrases is great exercise for memory and little tongue. Now she knows about 50 poems and songs. We didn’t learn them by purpose it is just the consequence of reading. Isn’t it great?
- She learned about the structure of stories from books. She easily retells the stories and fairy tales.
- become interested with letters. Almost all letters of alphabet is learnt. We are training to read the words.
- She use “storybook language” in her everyday conversations. Oh, it’s really funny when she name her toys or even us as a characters of books.
- teach to ask questions. Can you imagine a toddler without questions?
I tell you, it’s not so easy to read stories again and again. She really enjoys repetitions. Can you read a book for one hundred times without any break?:)
She loves when we read using different voices for different characters. It’s so much fun!
It’s amazing activity for whole family and sometimes it turns to snuggling
