I don’t know if this game has other name but we call it “islands”. For this simple toddler game you need to make a lot of islands. Usually we take pillows or big puzzles. Like on the picture.

Your task is to cross the room walking or jumping only on islands.

Say to your toddler that everywhere is water and if he steps into water he’ll wet the feet.
Though the game is very simple from the first view it’s interesting and very developing because it develops imagination and vestibular apparatus. Besides it’s fun to do something together.

How to help toddler to review the letters without making review boring? Just pretend you don’t want toddler to show you some knowledge. Toddlers like to do everything on the contrary. They will do everything you don’t want them to do and will say “no” to everything you want them to do.

All letters are learned, the first words are read, but when reading became boring let’s put books away and have fun eating sweet gingerbread cookies with favorite letters.

Just ask what letter he or she would like to eat:)

Even food ideas for toddler can make us creative.

Sesil Lupan is a person I’m really impressed with. She is a mother who cares about her children development and doesn’t want to trust the most precious years of her children childhood to someone else. Usually the parent are so tired of parenting that they gladly give children to some educational center to have some lazy free time. I remember one saying. Weariness exist only in our mind. It’s really true.

I do think that early development should be conducted by the people who love a child very much – the parents. No one feel your child better than you do.

Sesil Lupan doesn’t follow blindly to any methods. She took only the best in different early child education methods which suits her children best of all. You’ll never find a center where the same will be done for your children.

No matter where you’ll go you’ll be proposed to follow already prepared program, but how do they know what is the best for your toddler.

Though all toddler’s have a lot in common they are all different. It’s natural. They have different interests and desires. Early education can be based only on that interests and desires.

Sesil Lupan took a lot from Doman but her way of thinking is a little bit different. She doesn’t agree that a child should be “stuffed” with information like Glenn Doman propose to do. You can’t teach everything with only a cards.

I know that Doman method is working because I’ve tried it with my daughter and I’m very happy with results we have. But I’ve also seen that a toddler doesn’t need so strict schedule of cards slide show. We stop when we want and make long brakes but it still work. If I show cards to my toddler I do it only one time a day.

My toddler loves to read the old cards too but according to Doman it’s not a good idea. Sometimes we add more cards than Doman advised and sometimes we don’t add any cards at all. I make my choice according to mood and desire of my toddler. Sometimes she doesn’t want to read and we don’t read. Sometimes she likes to be busy with painting all week. And I don’t even propose to read. Sometimes we read all the evening.
The same we do with other activities.
Like Sesil Lupan I choose the most interesting from different early development methods. Doman advise you activities according to the age or stage of development. Sesil Lupan’s activities only based on interests. I don’t copy her but I’m very close to her thoughts about the way early education should be conducted.

I’m sure every parent will find a lot of interesting while reading Sesil Lupan’s books.

I decided that we don’t need new furniture for our daughter and for ourselves. We’ll use our lego sets to build some new design masterpieces and make our home more creative.

Some days ago we built a nice chair for Sophie.

By the way, this furniture is a very nice place to sit and think about life.

Now I’m thinking about some furniture for kitchen. Just need to buy some more sets of lego to be ready to start building our new kitchen.

I know that things we don’t allow to touch our children are the most interesting.
Things we can’t afford also like a magnets for us – adults. It’s our nature.

If you don’t allow to touch a knife your toddler will dream about possibility to take it secretly. But if you allow to play with it (in your presence) knife will become a very usual thing and will be forgotten very soon.

For this purpose cutting banana was really good activity besides it’s good training for little hands.

Besides it’s good idea for making food for toddler together.

Sometimes we have problems with eating. Most parents know what does it mean. Toddlers simply don’t want to waste their time for eating. There are so many things to explore!

The 2 ways of solving this problem are working with my daughter.
First is funny food ideas.
The second is eating stories.
Today we tried Eencey Weencey eating story.
Since my daughter loves Eencey Weensey song I’ve written lyrics to continue this story.
Also I’ve made some pictures to make the story more real:)

The Eencey Weencey spider was very very hungry.


The Eencey Weencey spider wanted to eat some soup.

The Eencey Weencey spider opened up his mouth.

He ate all the soup and nothing left to you.

Perhaps poem isn’t very good but after this song the place was really empty:)

Organizing art project for a toddler you should remember one very important thing. The art doesn’t like intrusion. Toddler should learn to feel the art and have their own opinion even if it’s different from yours. 1. Showing the paintings of famous artists

Here is good Doman method even if you don’t use it at all. Don’t think that such small children can’t understand such paintings. It’s not true. Perhaps they can understand it even better than we do because their mind isn’t overloaded with stereotypes. In other words, you can pour the tea only in the empty or half empty cup. We should always left some place for something new…

2. Painting and drawing yourself will make a toddler curious about your activity.
Paint and don’t ask toddler to join you. To pain with you will be the hottest desire:) They always want to try the things we do, not the things we ask them to try:)

3. Give new paints and paper
Something new always creates interest even if a toddler is familiar with paints and painting.

4. Don’t insist on this activity in you don’t see the interest
Insisting makes all attempts in vain. Do you like when someone force you to do something?

5. Don’t try to teach how to paint if you are not asked.
Let create the mood and impressions on the paper. The main thing is the process and positive emotions not the paintings.

So you have preschool toddler? It’s great because it’s one of my favorite children’s stage. Every stage is special and interesting, but this age is amuzing!

Who is preschool toddler? That’s the question.

Surely a preschool toddler isn’t a baby. He can walk. He can speak. He knows what is potty. He has his own thoughts and view on the things. He has some experience about the life.

He isn’t as stubborn as he used to be before and tantrums happen not so often. Life becomes easier!
You’ve already signed with relief because sleepless nights are in the past. It’s easier with everything about preschool toddler.

Sometimes they seems to behave almost like grown ups. They ask about serious things and we wonder how clever they are indeed. They may ask about economical situation, discoveries in cosmos, God, love and many other deep things. And after this questions we very often we do a mistake.

There are two mistakes we can make while parenting preschool toddler.

1. We still think that they are babies.

For all parents their children are always small no matter what is their real age. But our children grow up and change. And we have to understand it. Babies rely on us in everything. We plan their days for them. We decide when to sleep and what to eat, what to wear and with what toys to play, what music to listen.
Toddlers and especially preschool toddlers know very well what they like in and what they don’t. They choose food, toys, activities and even when it’s more suitable for them to have a walk or sleep. And it’s really good, because those simple choices can help them to understand themselves and become independent. It’s development of personal freedom. Of course if to gave them the full freedom you’ll discover soon that you are under the reign of tyrant has no desire to share his power. Here the best way out is to keep a golden middle. Really important and necessary things are obligatory, but in other cases the Freedom.
Let our kids express themselves in their own desires.

2. We think they are already big enough to behave like grown up in all situations.

I often do this mistakes. I forget that my daughter is still a child and she is only 2 years old. In fact she most people think she is older because of that many things she knows too many things for her age. She can understand so complicated explanations about life. The thought is not to be so demanding. Emotionally preschool toddlers are small children and need attention, love and caress even more and more with each day.

When a toddler is picky it’s so hard sometimes to find food ideas for cooking a delicious healthy snack.
My daughter is very picky. I have to make some speacial food for her otherwise she would be hungry. She doesn’t eat food she don’t like no matter what hungry she is.
This 2 simple and easy food ideas really help me a lot to keep her well-fed:)
Unfortunately we’ve always in a run and don’t have time to make serious masterpieces from food. But this 2 snacks are so easy and healthy.

Delicious Christmas Tree for a Picky Toddler


Tree is made of cottage cheese with sugar and cream. Raisins are used for decorations. Usually we add different berries and fruit.
You can also make a hedgehog carring fruits and berries on his back.

Potato Sun with Cream Clouds

Patato and meat. She doesn’t eat viggies so I don’t use them for decoration. For clouds I used cream.
Sometimes we make a potato castle with a cream river around it and a cream well inside. I’ll make a photo when we do it again.

Toddler are very curious. They can’t stand when someone is sitting at the computer without their help. They love typing and pressing different buttons.

This desire to type can be used with the education purpose. We can’t imagine our future without computers and our children will be more advanced and smart than we were at their age. It’s normal and good.

I propose to find some good and colorful disc like JumpStart Toddler and play together in order to have interesting activity. Or with favorite Micky. My daughter loves him so much! Mickey’s Toddler – with Active Leveling Advantage!
