I have a girl and she really loves different soft toys. We have several hundreds of different animals and dolls, which we bought or our friends presented to her. But when she is getting used to them she starts to be bored with them. Everything is different with Tilda toys. At least in our case. She knows that the Tilda Cat I’ve made for her is the only one in the whole world and it makes her to give this toy a very special attention. The same is with other toys we made together.

I can’t boast I have much time to do all that things. I you’ll check how often I update this blog you understand that it’s not the case with me. I do not have much time but I know what things are good and what are the most important.

All toddlers love different bags. Boys and girls love to play with them and to put in the bags lots of things they think are important for them.

How to help toddler to review the letters without making review boring? Just pretend you don’t want toddler to show you some knowledge. Toddlers like to do everything on the contrary. They will do everything you don’t want them to do and will say “no” to everything you want them to do.

All letters are learned, the first words are read, but when reading became boring let’s put books away and have fun eating sweet gingerbread cookies with favorite letters.

Just ask what letter he or she would like to eat:)

I decided that we don’t need new furniture for our daughter and for ourselves. We’ll use our lego sets to build some new design masterpieces and make our home more creative.

Some days ago we built a nice chair for Sophie.

By the way, this furniture is a very nice place to sit and think about life.

Now I’m thinking about some furniture for kitchen. Just need to buy some more sets of lego to be ready to start building our new kitchen.

A child perceives the world through the objects, which are around. Interior, dishes, clothes have influence on state of mind and emotions of little human. Traditional self made doll is very good, beneficial and kind toy. Doll is reflection of the human. With it help we search for our ego. Self made doll is created to be hugged, loved and played with.

Natural materials are very important for toddler’s health. Children explore the world with help of touch. They touch different surfaces and structures; love to hold something soft in the hands. If the doll by touch is the same as car or boat, a child is deprived of multiple impressions. The fact that doll is very simply and soft and its eyes and mouth is only marked slightly, gives possibility to imagine all that needed. A toddler can imagine a doll smiling or crying depending on the toddler’s mood.

Perhaps self made is not so beautiful or trim as a doll from the shop but it’s unique, special. A child can be sure that doll is his or her, because none has the same doll.

Sometimes we have problems with eating. Most parents know what does it mean. Toddlers simply don’t want to waste their time for eating. There are so many things to explore!

The 2 ways of solving this problem are working with my daughter.
First is funny food ideas.
The second is eating stories.
Today we tried Eencey Weencey eating story.
Since my daughter loves Eencey Weensey song I’ve written lyrics to continue this story.
Also I’ve made some pictures to make the story more real:)

The Eencey Weencey spider was very very hungry.


The Eencey Weencey spider wanted to eat some soup.

The Eencey Weencey spider opened up his mouth.

He ate all the soup and nothing left to you.

Perhaps poem isn’t very good but after this song the place was really empty:)

It’s very important to make at least some toys by your own hands for a toddler in order to show that we are creators but not only consumers.
It would be great if you do a toy together or your allow your child to watch the process.

Almost every parent knows how important role fine motor skills play in every sphere child’s life: in language development, brain development, and so on.
Writing skills are necessary in school and future life but you can make their developing easy and exiting long before school. If you train your toddler writing skills at least several times a week necessary writing in school won’t be so shocking and hard.
You don’t need nothing special for writing skills training, just some sheets of paper and pencils. And of course you have to choose a moment when a toddler isn’t tired and has desire to sit still for some minutes.
1. Draw some pairs flowers (or anything else what’s interesting to your kid) of different colors. The flowers should be mixed. Ask your child to joint flowers of the same color with line. At first the lines will be curve but every time they’ll look better.


2. The other variant we like to do is connection the dots. There are a lot of books with such exercises are on a sale but we’ve always have shortage of them.:) And I noticed that my daughter is more interested in this activity when we made such papers with exercises together.
It’s rather hard to connect all dots because it’s hard to perceive all drawing from the first glance. That’s why I draw two dots and ask her to connect them. The task is easy. When it’s done I draw another dot and she connect with it with the line. I draw the dots with the purpose to receive some object. Here you can see a Fur tree and a House.

My daughter is very happy to see the picture which is difficult for her to draw alone.
